Chapter Philanthropy & Service
As stated in our Purpose, serving our communities and contributing to the world’s work are values that each Alpha Gamma Delta sister strives to uphold. Through membership in Alpha Gamma Delta, our sisters have a multitude of opportunities to volunteer on campus and in the local community.
Helping organizations and people in need is an integral part of Alpha Gamma Delta. Our chapter participates in several events through the year. We participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund Walk in the fall as well volunteer during Diabetes Family Day, which is an event hosted by the children’s hospital at Vanderbilt. The children and families spend the day learning about the disease as well as participate in activities throughout the day.
Our chapter participates in many Philanthropy events throughout the year including: The ADA Walk with Austin Peay’s Chapter, Theta Psi, TypeOne Nation, and Second Harvest Food Bank. We also enjoy other chapter’s events around campus, such as: ATO’s event: Disco Is Dead, Theta’s event: Pay to Pie an Eta Phi and ATO and AST’s Teeter Totter!
During Halloween, we Trick or Treated for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, raising a total of $2395.65. We also continued to fundraise within the chapter throughout the year.
Our local philanthropy is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) which you can learn more about by clicking here.
